Many Helping Hands

MANY HELPING HANDS (MHH) A program dedicated to help the homeless. Many Helping Hands started over 10 years ago by Lana Hansen, Lana saw the need to provide help to all the homeless. Every Thursday night at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Irving, we provide dinner, clothes, hygiene and medical support to all those in need, we provide up to 100 plus meals a week. The Irving Police have been a remarkable support to us and the people. I cannot tell you what these volunteers do to support our homeless, but like everything else there is a cost, we receive donations of money, clothes and hygiene and weekly the food is provided by several churches and individuals taking a turn each week. Lana saw the future needs and two and a half years ago we open a Day Center The MHH Day Center is located at Bear Creek Community Church in Irving where we provide transportation to and from the Day Center. This space, allows us to do more for our clients, we work with them to help find jobs, provide snacks and lunch, a place to shower and wash there clothes. MHH also utilize this location for inclement weather days during the fall and winter when the weather falls to 30 degrees or below. Besides donations of clothes, blankets and travel size hygiene which we need, we can really use your individual and Corporate financial support to help our client’s.
