On the small island of Funen, in the heart of Denmark, the story of Naturfrisk began in 1997, when Niels Rømer and his son Nicolai purchased the abandoned Ørbæk Brewery — a historic brewery originally founded in 1906. Within its walls, Niels and Nicolai launched the world’s first commercial production of organic carbonated soft drinks. Over time, they expanded the range to include other organic beverages, and in 2001, beer returned to the brewery — brewed organically, of course. In 2009, single malt whisky joined the portfolio, and in 2017, the father and son duo brought new life to the historic train workshop of the Danish national rail company in Nyborg, transforming it into a stunning distillery dedicated to organic spirits. At Naturfrisk Group, we believe in the power of nature — and that food and drink should be as natural as possible. Free from artificial ingredients, pesticides, and anything that does harm to people or the planet. In harmony with nature and the environment, we craft indulgent, organic beverages for people to enjoy. That’s our mission.
