Panela is 100% natural, unprocessed, sugar. It is artisanally made in Quimbaya, Colombia with no other ingredients, but sugar cane. It is different from white, brown & turbinado sugar because it is not crystallized or bleached. To get sugar crystallized, sugar cane must go through a centrifuge, removing the molasses from the cane, hence wiping out all naturally contained nutrients.
