Oakfield Trust

Oakfield Trust exists to act as a catalyst for social gain in areas of social exclusion (particularly local) through the provision of community and social enterprise facilities, services and supports. Oakfield Trust are a 29-year-old social enterprise and registered charity, based in Clondalkin. Our primary activities are providing property-based solutions to social enterprises and local community organisations. We own three commercial properties and lease/sub-lease two in the Clondalkin area. All of these are rented to social enterprises and community organisations. This is where our trading income comes from. Using our surpluses from trading activities, we have also supported local community organisations by way of startup grants, loan finance and project management resources, and we donated large sums to needy organisations during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2023 we moved into providing direct funding to social enterprises nationwide, via an open grant fund. We are also taking a more active role in developing the sector in Ireland, via advocacy, networking, events and support activities. In 2025 Oakfield Trust became one of the first social enterprises in Ireland to secure Social Enterprise World Forum’s People & Planet First Verification. People & Planet First is a robust verification mark for social enterprises which is recognised globally and adopted in 130+ countries.
