Open Ocean Science Centre

The OOSC is a private research centre that is located in Dahab, Egypt. We closely collaborate with the Suez Canal University in Ismailia, the i Dive Dahab dive centre and the local community of the South Sinai region. The centre offers a range of facilities and services for individual researchers, universities and school groups and people interested in the marine environment. Our facilities include a modern indoor and outdoor wet lab with fresh and seawater supply, a spacious classroom with various technical tools and several outdoor seating areas for working and relaxing with wireless internet and power supply. The activities of the Open Ocean Science Centre can be summarized in three missions: Science and Research, Education and Awareness and the Dahab Charta, our environmental initiative. We assist researchers with administrative and organizational matters before, during and after their field trips and take care of all necessary logistics related to data collection and scientific excursions. The centre offers excursions and courses in marine biology for students, school children and divers. We are also actively engaged in various environmental projects to protect what we love, the Red Sea!
