We produce well-rounded athletes by coaching the players in all areas of development rather than solely focusing on one discipline. PHD is no-nonsense, but rather real growth and real development. WHY I STARTED The name PHD came from the fact that my parents were both doctors and the name made sense. When it came to hockey, I was a late bloomer in that I didn’t start playing until the age of ten. This forced me to put in triple the amount of work in order to catch up, and I had to constantly seek out new and inventive methods that could advance my skills. Within that pursuit I discovered that there were limited, and most times mediocre, avenues or places to get “real” coaching.
