Philip Mediation

Providing professional dispute resolution and conflict management services to clients in the Pacific Northwest. Sasha S. Philip is a licensed attorney who practiced civil defense litigation for 12 years before becoming a professional mediator and arbitrator, based on an emerging conviction that conflict is most effectively resolved without the emotional and financial cost of litigation. Ms. Philip offers mediations both of litigated cases and of disputes in which no formal lawsuit has been filed, and acts as an agreed-upon arbitrator in private arbitrations as well as MAR and UM/UIM arbitrations. She obtained her Professional Mediation Skills Training Certificate from the University of Washington School of Law in 2007, and has acquired more than 150 additional hours of training in conciliation, negotiation and mediation techniques from various accredited sources. She has also completed a rigorous WMA-approved mediation practicum and certification under the joint auspices of the Bellevue Neighborhood Mediation Program and the Seattle Federal Executive Board's ADR Consortium, and is certified as a Rule 39.1 Neutral by the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington. Ms. Philip draws on her extensive experience representing parties in mediations and arbitrations of litigated cases in Washington State and Federal courts for her own mediation and arbitration practice. In addition, she is active as a volunteer mediator – mediating neighborhood disputes for the City of Bellevue Neighborhood Mediation Program, small claims court cases for the King County Dispute Resolution Center, and workplace conflicts at federal, state and local government agencies for the Federal Executive Board's ADR Consortium – and acts as an arbitrator for the King County and Snohomish County Superior Courts in mandatory arbitration cases.
