Pine Island Redfish

After closure of the commercial fishery, redfish became one of the most prized recreational catches, a delicacy only available to those who go out to catch it themselves. Considered one of the “Big Three” sportfish in Florida, the “Fishing Capital of the World”, saltwater sportfishing is a $9.2 billion industry supporting over jobs. Preservation of the wild fish has paid off environmentally AND economically. Pairing a well understood biological culture process with Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) technology, we can have the best of both worlds. Our goal is to bring highly prized fish back to the menu with no compromise of wild stock.
