Preaface Ceramics

Charlotte Collier-Hunter is a newly established studio potter at Turning Earth in East London and a member of The Craft Potters Association and The London Potters. Growing up in New Zealand, her connection to nature and organic forms started early on, with a love of painting, writing poetry and performance at the heart of her life for many years. Moving back to London in 2018 saw her taking a new direction after a successful career in nursing; back to her love of design and in 2020 she took an intensive week-long course to learn the fundamentals of working with clay and fell in love. Charlotte works in several different stoneware clay bodies, using a range of techniques to create handsomely proportioned forms with subtle surfaces that nurture a feeling of serenity.
