Project Sunride
Formed in 2017, Project Sunride is a student-led rocketry team at the University of Sheffield. Project Sunride currently holds the UK Open Alititude record at 36,274ft, which the team achieved in 2019 with their rocket "Helen". Sunride developed a 3D-printed, bipropellant rocket engine, Sunfire II, which was hotfired in July 2023, achieving 3.4kN for 5 seconds. Sunride's Rockets: Amy (2018) and Helen (2019) were launched at Spaceport America Cup in New Mexico, USA. Karman Alpha (July 2023) was launched at Friends of Amateur Rocketry in the Mojave Desert, California, USA. Karman Mini (November 2022/March 2023) and Test Rocket 2 (April/May/June 2023) were launched at Midland Rocketry Club in Leicestershire, UK.
