A contemporary eco-wear brand. While fashion is transient, our ethos is drawn from the classics: understated, contemporary garments that will take you throughout seasons for years. Unlike other brands Rakha does not follow seasons but rather focuses on re-designing those classic pieces that could be worn for generations. The brands approach to sustainability is through creating garments made from bio-degradable or repurposed materials. WHY WE EXIST? Most consumers, at some stage in their lives, went through a phase of buying trendy, affordable, short-term fashion products. Many people are now beginning to realise the negative impact of fast fashion on communities and the environment. Fast fashion products are normally made in the developing countries under working conditions that amount to slavery. These production processes place economic gains of large companies above environmental and ethical considerations, causing a massive amount of waste and pollution threatening communities and our planet. Rakha was created to seek and create ethical, environmentally friendly and affordable fashion. We aim to prove that fashion can be sustainable and can play a major role in building sustainable communities. So after comprehensive research and a detailed study on how we can help change the whole supply chain and create a better fashion industry, our sustainability journey started. We seek to find the most innovative and sustainable materials available. We aim to work only with green manufacturers, with established environmental management systems, standards and certifications, limiting the carbon impact of our operations. We aim to use only recycled or bio-degradable materials for our garments.
