RecycleAbilities is a Canberra based social enterprise. Young people with intellectual disabilities offer a recycling service to local businesses and residential communities using the 10c Container Deposit Scheme. They collect and process the containers and then donate a proportion of the proceeds to local and national charities. RecycleAbilities has created purposeful employment and a valued roles in community and has given young people with intellectual disability the opportunity to be givers and help rather than the constant receivers of assistance.
