Refugee Chronicles

Stories of Al Nakba, firsthand from those who experienced this seemingly “forgotten” catastrophe of 1948. Sharing the strength and resilience of people who survived one of humanity’s biggest catastrophes. Refugee chronicles document the stories of Palestinian elders living in refugee camps in the West Bank, Lebanon, Jordan, and Syria. This documentary follows Nour’s journey as she reconnects with her Palestinian identity and learns from these elders the events in 1948 that changed Palestinian history forever. These testimonials are a form of peaceful, educational resistance to one of the most violent events in history. Time and time again, documents have been printed to reflect that the State of Israel and its allies are on a mission to erase the events of 1948 from a Palestinian perspective and eradicate the Palestinian narrative in general. Nour went on a mission to better understand the truth and realities of what happened during Nakba. Who the Zionists are and represent, how the events of 1948 unfolded, and what happened to the people that survived a significant catastrophe in the history of the world. This documentary will highlight the forgotten refugees living in West Bank, Gaza, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon refugee camps. Tell their stories and share their identities, which often get overlooked. This documentary serves to amplify their voices and explore their narratives. It will explain what occupation does to humanity, people, and countries and show the Palestinian people's unyielding bond with their land. Given that this is the last generation of the Al Nakba survivors, this documentary aims to archive the experiences of Palestinian elders before they are gone forever, taking their stories and experiences with them.
