At the RUK baking company we believe that old traditions have a place in our modern lives. Rusks were a way to preserve bread or cake so that nothing was wasted, and the larder was always stocked with wholesome goodness. Each culture has its own version - ours are made with an assortment of grains, seeds, and dried fruit. Farmers who had been working their fields from sun-up would take a break, dip the Rusks into steaming hot coffee or sweet Rooibos tea and refuel for the hours ahead. We invite you to take a step back to when food made sense - it was of the land, for hardworking good people, who led full lives. RUK ON!
