Rust Belt Robotics

Rust Belt Robotics, is a dynamic and inclusive community FIRST FRC robotics team that I had the privilege of starting last year. Our mission is to inspire and equip Buffalo's youth, specifically students in 7th to 12th grade, with the skills and mindset needed to excel in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a globally renowned organization that promotes hands-on learning experiences in STEM through robotics competitions. Our team at Rust Belt Robotics is proud to be Buffalo's first-ever community team "outside of Buffalos private school community" dedicated to providing access to these transformative opportunities for students in our community. What sets us apart is our commitment to inclusivity and diversity. We believe that innovation thrives when individuals from various backgrounds collaborate, and we are proud to be a melting pot of talent, ideas, and perspectives. By opening our doors to Buffalo's students, we aim to create a space where everyone's unique strengths contribute to our shared success giving students access to a multitude of professional engineering mentors and others. Through FIRST, students are not only exposed to technical skills like programming, engineering, and problem-solving, but also valuable life skills such as teamwork, communication, and leadership. Moreover, FIRST students gain access to an astounding $50 million in scholarships, opening doors to higher education and future career opportunities. At Rust Belt Robotics, we are not just building robots; we are building futures. By nurturing a passion for STEM and empowering Buffalo's young minds, we are helping to shape the next generation of thinkers, creators, and innovators who will drive progress in our community and beyond.
