By solving problems that address a fishermen’s needs and including the behavioural safety needs at the same time we can be confident that we create meaningful and positive changes to safety culture. “Fish is Food” we believe in wild caught fish, caught within a regulated and managed fishery as a necessary affordable and health protein that can and does help to feed the world. Our commitment to supporting the fish supply chain relates to our commitment to Fisherman First, as the need to sell fish in to a supply chain is a foundation of the needs of a commercial fisherman. “Level the Playing Field” operating internationally compliant fishing vessels to the ILO Work in Fishing Convention, and Torremolinos the IMO fishing Vessel construction standards or the FAO guidelines for vessels under 12 metres shouldn’t be less profitable that operating a vessel that is below these baseline standards. A particularly abhorrent practice is the Illegal, unregulated and unreported fishing vessels that manage to avoid these baselines and often neglect human rights, labour rights, and we stand against these practices.
