Save Cantonese 守護粵語

Save Cantonese is a volunteer-driven 501c3 nonprofit that protects Cantonese language and culture by strengthening connections across the global Cantonese diaspora. Through expanding K-12 and university Cantonese programs, we ensure that present and future generations benefit from language access. We run both in-person and online events that celebrate Cantonese, and we use our social media and website to elevate allied voices who share our mission. We were founded in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic by our executive director Dr. Jamie Tam and a group of Stanford alumni who rallied to save the program there. Since then, we've expanded globally, with members on multiple continents doing their part to save Cantonese. Some of our current projects include reinstating Cantonese at UCLA and creating Cantonese children's books to teach the next generation. Want to join the cause?
