Saving Hand Development Initiative (SHADE-IN) is a non-profit Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) which was incorporated under the Nigerian Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) on 8th October, 2012. Before her incorporation, she started operation on 10th April, 2010 with her community development work in Aba-Ebira settlement, Ado-Ekiti, now Oke Agbe II, Ofiyin Village, Off New Iyin Road, Iyin-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria, a name acquired through SHADE-IN’s advocacy to the traditional ruler of Iyin Community, since Aba-Ebira was not recognized as part of Iyin community prior to our advocacy. With the scarcity of values among the masses, especially young people, poor educational systems, prevalence of dysfunctional families and the cluelessness of communities to spearhead their own development, SHADE-IN has set out with a vision and a mission to close this gap. Our Vision is to be a leading strategy, providing unique relationship with the young and communities towards achieving God’s purpose for life. Our Mission is to enhance speedy transformation of the Nigerian system by creating exceptional values among young people, communities and leaders. Our Core Values include: Excellence Integrity Diligence Discipline Spirituality Accountability Transparency Courtesy and Relationship Our Thematic Areas are: Our four main thematic areas include: • Youth education • Leadership development and • Value re-orientation • Neighborhood transformation (Community Development) Other thematic areas include: • Research • Advocacy • Gender rights and empowerment • Anti-human trafficking Our Target Audience • Adolescents, teenagers and youth ages 10-24 (Primary audience); Young people ages 25-35 (Secondary audience). • Rural communities • Families • Vulnerable girls and women within our target audience.
