An experienced senior leader in academic medical and biotech administration, Susan focuses on the people of the organization, building organizational cultures that support employees, including leaders, to be their most effective. As Vice President of Business Operations for the Parker Institute of Cancer Immunotherapy, she grew the institute from ten to 75 employees while engaging partner sites. Leading HR, finance, administration, facilities, project management and organizational development she focused on developing the Parker Institute into an organization with soul. Susan understands the challenges of start-ups and the importance of organizational culture to recruit and retain talent. With over two decades of experience at the University of California at the UCLA and UCSF campuses, Susan knows how to navigate complex organizations and advocate for employees. As a department manager and then Associate Dean for Administration and Finance, she focused on employee engagement while overseeing budget, HR, clinics, student & faculty services, space, marketing and special projects. Susan received the Chancellor’s Award for Exceptional University Management. Working primarily with physicians, scientists, entrepreneurs and other academic, medical and biotechnology managers and leaders, Susan coaches high potential individuals and teams.
