Scribe Lounge

Scribe Lounge was founded by Jame Capel in 2020 (just as we were heading into the second lockdown) since then it has grown exponentially - it is now home to screenwriters and has become a life line whether you're a seasoned pro writing as a full time job or if you're just starting out. Here's what James had to say about why he created Scribe Lounge:"As a writer, I know what it's like to trawl the internet looking for support - blogs, podcasts, books, advice, knowledge, HELP! What I really needed when I started out was a community where I could ask all the questions I wanted, get advice, get feedback on my work and most importantly, feel supported in my journey by people who knew how I was feeling. Like everyone, I bumbled my way through. I wrote scripts, I sent them off, I got rejected for years, eventually landed an agent, eventually got some commissions and eventually got my first TV credit. And the mission continues - only with the added challenge of keeping 2 very energetic small children entertained in between! The point is, I never quite found what I was looking for - a community. Twitter began to offer it to a degree, with a lovely bunch of writers nestled on there, but then as everyone knows, with Twitter there is an awful lot of noise that you have to cut through to find what you're looking for. Nowadays, while there is a TON of information out there for screenwriters, I feel like you have to work hard in order to find it all. So then I thought, how cool would it be to have a community where everything is in ONE PLACE - AND it is all tailored specifically for UK writers. A space that is dedicated to screenwriting and everything associated with it. Where you can meet writers from LOADS of different backgrounds who write all kinds of amazing stories." WELCOME!
