SDP Ecological and Environmental Services was established in to meet the sustainable development challenges brought about along the coastline of Kwa-Zulu Natal during the economic growth bubble that began to emerge in that period. The company has since evolved over this extended period into an ecology-focussed firm that offers an understanding of the environment that cuts through the rhetoric and pseudo-science that has come to beleaguer the environmental profession. SDP now has a national and international client base ranging from the private sector, to NGOs to local and national Government departments, and has undertaken work in a number of African and Indian Ocean countries. SDP offers its clients sound scientific rationale and judgment on a variety of fronts, with a core focus on aquatic, coastal and wetland systems, and interpretative assessments on a variety of eco-systems. SDP is also able to develop and render methods and programmes for the rehabilitation of eco systems, and address environmental problems through eco-remediation methods.
