Sea Academics

SEA (Studies, Experiments, Applications) Academy is a social enterprise empowering high school students in terms of research opportunities and academic writing. A WeChat Official Channel is running under the same name, with posts of activity information, strategic partners, and research articles. Nine academic departments thrive at SEA Academy: Mathematical Studies & Computer Science; Literature, Linguistics, & Philosophy; Physics & Applied Physics; Biomedical Science; History & Religion Studies; Sociology & Anthropology; Psychology; Chemistry; Economics. At SEA Academy, a "Term" spans ten weeks, and a research paper is expected at the end. Greenhand Scholars are middle/high school students who work independently/in groups under the guidance of Honor Scholars, who are undergraduates, masters, and Ph.D. students in their areas of expertise. An online community with 850+ is maintained by the SEA Strategy Group, with various activities organized by SEA Event Organisation in the 6-week activity break that follows a term. Terms are organized biannually. SEA runs a partnership framework called SEA Pioneer Initiatives (SPI), where socially responsible and well-performing organizations are invited to become SEA partners to bring social values together. There are currently around 15 active SPIs in various fields. Every scholar and faculty member who once belonged to SEA Academy are SEA Alumni. The SEA Alumni Society is a vibrant alumni society with members from Oxford University, Yale University, the University of Pennsylvania, Peking University, the University of California, Berkeley and etc. Together, SEA aims at helping the underrepresented group of students to engage in research and academic writing, connecting scholars worldwide to foster innovation, and issuing its own journal to help young scholars voice themselves. At the bottom of SEA Values are Academic Leadership, Intellectual Curiosity, and Communal Contribution.
