Seattle Services For The Blind

Seattle Services for the Blind is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization established in October 2020. Our primary service is to provide accessible materials, braille transcription, and accessible documents for individuals who are visually impaired or blind. We are a team of braille transcribers certified by the Library of Congress and locally certified braillist. Additionally, we have a social worker, accountant, and Information Technologist. SSB is the only nonprofit organization that produces Arabic Braille Material in the United States. Furthermore, our team can transcribe literary and STEM Braille using both Unified English Braille and Nemeth Code at affordable costs or free of charge. Additionally, We convert readable documents into accessible documents. Our Mission: To make reading materials more accessible for individuals who are blind or visually impaired. Our Initiatives: After receiving the documents, we begin to make them editable Word documents. The next step is transcribing them into Braille or converting them to accessible materials ready to read and navigate by screen.
