The Samuel Hardgrave Harlequin Ichthyosis Research Trust (SHHIRT) is the only UK registered charity dedicated solely to researching Harlequin Ichthyosis, and helping those affected by it. Our goals are to raise awareness of Harlequin Ichthyosis; raise funds toward researching the disease, and provide directional support to families who have been affected by it in some way. We hope that by working toward these goals, we can ultimately help to improve the lives of those affected by the disease. We formed SHHiRT in September 2010, following the short life of Samuel Hardgrave, who died aged just 37 days. Sam’s parents, Jamie and Clare, wanted to do something to ensure that Sam’s legacy would help others.
