Singer Bangladesh Ltd. is the pioneer brand of consumer durables in Bangladesh. The company is running its business operations successfully for more than a century as a multinational company in Bangladesh. The name Singer has been synonymous with sewing machines throughout the world for well over a century. In the early 1980s, Singer Bangladesh entered the electronics market. Since then, the company has become one of the country’s leading manufacturers and retailers of electronics and home appliances. Today, Singer sells all categories of household consumer durables under the Singer, Beko and multi-brands. The company has a huge retail network with 500+ retail stores along with more than dealer shops located all over the country. Singer is the pioneer in the industry to adapt digital first approach and its e-commerce platform is one of the leading e-businesses in the country. The company has also been building on its production capabilities with local manufacturing plants. Singer Bangladesh Limited was incorporated as a Private Limited company on September 04, 1979 under Companies Act 1913. It was converted into a Public Limited Company in 1983 by offering shares to the public upon taking the requisite permission from the Government. In 2019, Arçelik acquired Singer Bangladesh Ltd. Arçelik is the flagship consumer durables company of turkish conglomerate Koç Holding, which is the only Turkish company represented in the fortune 500 global list. Singer Bangladesh is 57% owned by Arcelik and the remainder of shares of the company are publicly traded in DSE and CSE.
