Be the best you can be”: Skinners’ Academy provides a world class education for students, aged 11-19, in a modern state of the art building in Woodberry Grove area of Hackney. We pride ourselves on our culture of high expectation for every student and are committed to cultivating a happy, caring and respectful environment. Students have access to academic and vocational qualifications as well as a wide range of curricular and enrichment (extra-curricular) activities; our aim is to help them become well rounded adults who are empowered to positively contribute to their local and global community. The Academy is also a centre of excellence specialising in enterprise. In December 2018, the Academy achieved a Wellbeing Award for Schools, recognising commitment to the wellbeing of students and staff. We are creating a learning environment where hard work, motivation and determination help to prepare our students for their future lives in an ever changing world. Our aim is to provide a highly vibrant and safe environment where every pupil can flourish regardless of ability or background. In September 2015, the Academy opened its aspirational and high achieving Sixth Form. Our sixth form offers a wide range of courses, both academic and vocational, taught by inspirational and dedicated teachers. It includes a dedicated sixth form centre where students can both socialise and undertake individual study. In this environment, students can achieve highly on the condition that they work hard and remain committed to their studies. With a wide array of extracurricular activities, excellent UCAS guidance and well respected careers education, information advice and guidance, our sixth formers are given an excellent platform for future success.
