What is SleepShack? SleepShack (launching October 2013) is a clinically proven, online sleep treatment program for sleep deprived pre-teens (10-12 years) and teenagers (13-18 years). How does it work? Upon personal assessment of a child's sleep pattern, Paediatric & Adolescent Sleep Physician Dr Seton and Clinical Psychologist Dr Gamble will provide a tailor made Sleep Program rescheduling the child's sleep. This program will include prescribed times when to go to bed, get up out of bed, medically researched strategies to maximise the child’s sleep, and tools from Clinical Psychologist Dr Amanda Gamble on the child managing their thoughts and emotions at night. What will it treat? Australian and overseas medical research has consistently shown sleep deprived adolescents consistently perform worse academically, demonstrate a higher incidence of depression, anxiety, and mood swings, have more car accidents, and compromised health measures. However when a teenagers sleep is corrected, they fall asleep easily and awaken refreshed, they’ll suffer fewer episodes of depression, anxiety & mood swings, perform better at school, drive safer and demonstrate improved health overall.
