Programming: As an organization promoting the nexus point between social justice and art-making, SEA not only celebrates the creativity of artists from all backgrounds and cultures but also highlights the power of art to shine a light on societal issues and themes, encouraging self-reflection and calls to action. SEA amplifies voices and mobilizes people to make the change they want to see in the world. In this way, the organization is a social movement that recognizes the potential for art to “convene, connect and catalyze” diverse constituencies toward a common goal. To accomplish this, SEA runs the following programs: Juried Equity Art Exhibitions (The “Justice Series”) – The centerpiece of SEA’s work is its juried equity art exhibitions which provide local artists with the opportunity for exposure and cash prizes. Each exhibition includes a speaker who raises community consciousness about local history, culture, science and heritage. Project P.A.I.R. Pair Artist Intensive Residency Mentor-mentee intensives in local established artist studios to provide pathways in achieving artist self-sufficiency for diverse historically excluded local artist Membership * Professional * Artist Volunteer * SEA Affiliates
