Lisson Gallery
Lisson Gallery is one of the most influential and longest-running international contemporary art galleries in the world. Today the gallery supports and promotes the work of more than 70 international artists across spaces in London, New York, Los Angeles, Shanghai and Beijing. Established in 1967 by Nicholas Logsdail, Lisson Gallery pioneered the early careers of important Minimal and Conceptual artists such as Art & Language, Carl Andre, Daniel Buren, Donald Judd, John Latham, Sol LeWitt, Richard Long and Robert Ryman among many others. It still works with many of these artists and others of that generation, from Carmen Herrera and Olga de Amaral to Hélio Oiticica and Lee Ufan. For almost 35 years, VisArts, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, has transformed individuals and communities through our vision of a vibrant, diverse community enriched and connected by the visual arts. We’re Montgomery County’s largest visual arts center, welcoming more than visitors each year to our facility in Rockville Town Square. Arts Of Life, Inc
Opened in Arts of Life was the first program in Chicago to provide employment in the arts for adults with developmental disabilities. The studio serves as both an community day program and creative epicenter for its artists. Our program expanded to the North with the opening of our Glenview Studio in 2010 and In-Home and Community Programs in 2021. In 2024, we launched a new satellite studio in Woodlawn’s First Presbyterian Church, further increasing our accessibility to artists living on Chicago’s South Side. Funded partly by the Department of Human Services, Arts of Life is proudly supported by The Coleman Foundation; National Endowment for the Arts; the MacArthur Fund for Culture, Equity, and the Arts; Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events; and the Illinois Arts Council and depends on fundraising efforts to sustain its program. Creativity Explored is a studio-based collective in San Francisco that partners with people with developmental disabilities to celebrate and nurture the creative potential in all of us. Founded in 1983 by a psychologist and an artist, CE has facilitated the careers of hundreds of disabled artists and serves as a model in the field of art and disability worldwide. We believe art is essential to life. We exist to provide people with developmental disabilities access to the human right of creative expression. Creativity Explored now serves 130 artists with developmental disabilities offering art supplies, training, exhibition and sales opportunities in traditional and digital media. CE artists have seen their work exhibited in museums, galleries, and art fairs in over 14 countries and have earned over $2 million from their art. Our life-changing programs continue to open doors of inclusion to center the personhood and creative vision of people with developmental disabilities. Most importantly, Creativity Explored is a source of community, empowerment and dignity. At CE, we believe in a future society with an enlightened understanding of its relationship with neuro-diverse people—one that has evolved from one-way support to mutually-enriching growth and authentic appreciation of all people’s creative contributions. CE continues to center the personhood and agency of our artists in all our efforts, asking, “What is important to you?” We will continue to innovate to provide safe and virtual services that enrich the lives of our artists, their families and supporters, on their terms.
