Spaceboy Studio

Spaceboy Studio is a production company founded by Steve Anthopoulos and Yingna Lu, committed to stories that make us laugh, cry and understand ourselves a little better. Our short film VOICE ACTIVATED premiered at the 2022 Sydney Film Festival, and is an official selection of the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival. It won Best Short Film Production at the 2023 Screen Producers of Australia awards, Best Australian Short Film, People's Choice Award, Best Screenplay and Best Actor at the 2023 Gold Coast Film Festival and best screenplay at the 2023 Stellar Film Festival. Through a Black List Initiative they produced a proof of concept short, MY SUMMER IN THE HUMAN RESISTANCE. The feature screenplay was the Big Break Grand Prize Winner and was featured on The Black List's Aussie List. In 2021 our instagram and Tik Tok series LOVE BUG, funded by Screen Australia, reached over 2.5 million views on TikTok and is currently nominated for an Australian Writers Guild award for best screenplay for a Web Series. Our short films have screened at festivals including Berlin, SXSW, Sydney Film Festival, Melbourne International Film Festival, Palm Spring, Cleveland and Flickerfest.
