SQ Thinking provides research-based executive functioning learning tools. SQ SENTENCE is an explicit research-based sentence writing program that teaches students to write complex sentences with correct syntax. Students follow 10 specific "SQ Sentence Maps", or syntax maps. The Maps serve as a sentence writing roadmap leading to effective complex sentence syntax. Students see how the syntax parts sequentially fit together to create a whole sentence. SQ WRITE is a comprehensive paragraph and essay writing curriculum that applies an executive functioning approach to teaching and learning how to write effectively. SQ Write employs a simple yet powerful process that can be used in all tiers of instruction to help elementary through high school students become self-reliant writers who create high-quality writing products. It all begins with the SQ Write Q-Card and Thought Organizer. SQ Organize applies research-based executive functioning skills to develop 21st-century students who independently initiate, self-monitor, and complete homework. SQ Organize explicitly teaches students to follow proven routines and sequenced self-questions that result in independent planning, organizing and self-monitoring.
