St. Martinus University Faculty of Medicine (SMUFOM) opened in 2003 on the beautiful island of Curaçao. At SMUFOM we are passionate about providing a quality medical education. SMUFOM offers small class-size environment, personal attention, and the tools needed to succeed in a rigorous pre-medical or medical program. All instructors are experienced physicians who were trained in the US, UK, or Netherlands. Facilities are state-of-the-art with modern lab equipment and an online student portal for resources, communication, and grading. The student-to-cadaver ratio is less than 8:1 and there are ample opportunities for supplemental lab work and dissection. Our Integrated Clinical Medicine courses prepare students with public speaking, personality development and HIPAA training. The school is located (starting in July) at the Scherpenheuval, an historic 18th century monastery and island landmark just outside Willemstad.
