TRAINING PH.D. Around 20 interns from Groningen, the Netherlands are being trained through NASKHO each year. The education they receive has a positive influence on the local medical professionals as the interns are a link between these professionals and the rest of the medical world. The clinical education in health care performance leads to an upgrading of the knowledge and the working level of all medical professionals. MEDICAL COURSES As part of the second objective NASKHO organizes an annual minimum of 11 postgraduate courses, and aims to impart knowledge and skills to local paramedics, doctors and specialists. The NASKHO postgraduate courses have grown into a consistent and continuous training program and enjoy great interest. The courses are usually accredited by professional associations (the Netherlands). Besides the traditional postgraduate courses the NASKHO provides organizational, logistical and / or financial support to other training courses in the medical field, sometimes in collaboration with international (professional) organizations. SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH As part of its third objective NASKHO actively promotes scientific research in the medical field.The results broaden the knowledge of local health issues and, as a direct result, contributes to the quality of care to patients. External evaluation has proven that, through scientific research supported by the NASKHO, interesting results have been achieved with a relevant impact on health care.

St. Martinus University Faculty of Medicine (SMUFOM) opened in 2003 on the beautiful island of Curaçao. At SMUFOM we are passionate about providing a quality medical education. SMUFOM offers small class-size environment, personal attention, and the tools needed to succeed in a rigorous pre-medical or medical program. All instructors are experienced physicians who were trained in the US, UK, or Netherlands. Facilities are state-of-the-art with modern lab equipment and an online student portal for resources, communication, and grading. The student-to-cadaver ratio is less than 8:1 and there are ample opportunities for supplemental lab work and dissection. Our Integrated Clinical Medicine courses prepare students with public speaking, personality development and HIPAA training. Greenkidz Curaçao
Wereldwijd en zeker onder jongeren groeit de belangstelling voor het brede thema ‘Groen’ dat allerlei elementen van milieubewustzijn, gezond leven en duurzaamheid omvat. GreenKidz wil lokale schoolkinderen in de leeftijd van 9 tot en met 12 jaar stimuleren om zorgzaam en verantwoordelijk met hun leef- en schoolomgeving om te gaan en zelf actief bij te dragen aan een groener, schoner, gezonder en veiliger Curaçao. Om onze doelen te bereiken, ontwikkelen wij jaarlijks moderne ‘groene’ lespakketten, die door GreenKidz gastdocenten worden uitgevoerd. Deze worden ondersteund door een tweetalige website (Pap/Ned), een GreenKidz Magazine en een GreenKidz Award dat op het jaarlijkse GreenKidz feest wordt uitgereikt. Met ons project streven wij ernaar om scholen niet te overbelasten maar juist te ondersteunen, waarbij alle GreenKidz producten blijvend en gratis aan de doelgroep worden verstrekt. GreenKidz richt zich op alle 50 FO scholen van Curaçao en circa leerlingen in groep 5 tot en met 8 van het FO onderwijs. Wij werken hierbij nauw samen met alle schoolbesturen en met lokale groene experts. In jaar 1 worden 5 pilot scholen geselecteerd. In jaar twee worden 20 scholen bediend en in jaar 3 worden alle 50 FO scholen van Curaçao van GreenKidz lessen en gastdocenten voorzien. Alle digitale les- en leesmaterialen worden bovendien vanaf jaar 1 gratis en direct online gezet.

Otc Opleiding & Trainingen Curaçao
Wie zijn wij? OTC is ontstaan uit een visie van enkele docenten en een dringende noodzaak n.l. dat er op de Antillen de mogelijkheid geschapen moest worden om goed beroepsonderwijs te volgen op een kwalitatief hoog niveau. Door de landsverordening SBO is het beroepsonderwijs op de Antillen geherstructureerd en loopt ongeveer parallel met het MBO in Nederland. OTC is er trots op ook een steentje bij te dragen aan de beroepsvorming van de Antilliaanse jeugd op Curaçao tot middenkader functionarissen of specialisten. Het primaire doel is dat jongelui op eigen bodem goed onderwijs kunnen volgen en niet op jeugdige leeftijd naar het buitenland hoeven te gaan voor MBO studies. Na je studie kun je opgenomen worden in het arbeidsproces hier te lande of, indien je dat wenst, verder studeren aan welke H.B.O. dan ook, hier of in Nederland. De opleidingen die wij aanbieden zijn hoog gewaardeerd door het bedrijfsleven. Je wordt breed geschoold. Je vindt zeker een baan hier op Curaçao of elders in de Antillen of in het buitenland. De docenten zijn bekwaam, bevoegd en enthousiast om je kennis, inzicht, vaardigheidheden en beroepshoudingen aan te leren. Zij zijn zich bewust van wat er speelt in de samenleving en geven meer dan wat er van hen verwacht wordt. Je bent dus goed terecht bij OTC.
