Swap Architektur

Swap Architektur ZT GmbH is an internationally operating architecture firm based in Vienna. We deal with a wide range of topics such as timber construction, healing architecture, laboratory construction, school construction, and design computation. The latter has strong synergies in daily competition work, which is facilitated and enriched by digital methods. Long before SWAP Architektur was founded in 2008, there was an apartment experiment "SWAP – I am the space." This experiment questioned and transcended the classical concept of living to discover the city as an extended living space. A dozen protagonists "swapped" their living spaces and experienced the city as a network of functions. Many insights from "I am the space" are now taken for granted, yet SWAP continues to pursue the goal of creating spaces that encourage users to rethink space and functions. For this, space cannot be fully predetermined; it must remain open to interpretation to trigger unexpected actions. Neither the user nor the function is completely fixed but rather "swaps." In addition to people, SWAP focuses on the responsible use of resources. We are a ClimatePartner-certified company.
