SWM-Wood Ltd, Thermowood® FOR PROFESSIONAL USE. SWM-Wood Ltd manufactures Thermowood® for construction and carpentry industries, as well as for re-sellers at the global markets. We are specialized in Finnish pine (Scots Pine, Pinus sylvestris), spruce (Norway Spruce, Picea abies) and knotless radiata pine. Our customers knows us from high-quality Thermowood® products, our raw material being high quality, slowly grown Nordic timber, from good service level and from reliable delivery. SWM-Wood Ltd was founded in Finland 1998. We are the 2nd largest manufacturer of Thermowood® in Europe with the production capacity of 30 m3 / year Thermowood® and annual turnover being 10 MEUR. Production plants and head office are located in Mikkeli, Eastern Finland. SWM-Wood Ltd employs total 20 professional in Finland and in sales office in Netherlands. ThermoWood® is a wood material produced by using ONLY natural methods, high temperature and steam. NO chemicals are used in the treatment. Thermowood® is an ecological alternative and fully recyclable product. Thermowood® is non-toxic, dimensionally stable, resistant to decay, resin free and it’s thermal insulation properties has improved. The wood is also colored throughout into a beautiful shade of brown. Thermowood® can be used outdoors and indoors, in any climates. Due improved decay resistant properties Thermowood® products are well suited to applications involving demanding weather conditions. Use in interior decoration is supported by the beautiful, hardwood-style look & feel and the dimensional stability of the product. A large portion of our products are made for export. We are the first company in our industry which has been granted the KOMO® product certificate. Our products have also been granted the PEFC™ certificate. We are a member of The International ThermoWood Association which entitles us to use the registered ThermoWood® trademark and logo.
