Tafeta

TAFETA is a London-based gallery specializing in 20th-century and contemporary African art. Constituted as a gallery in 2013, with a project space in Lagos, Nigeria, the gallery remains the leading purveyor of some of the most important 20th-century artists of African descent. TAFETA 's contemporary program actively seeks to discover and represent emerging, mid-career and established artists in Africa and the diaspora. TAFETA has been featured in notable international publications such as the Financial Times, The New York Times, and the Art Newspaper and has worked to place contemporary African art in prominent public and private collections, including the Smithsonian's National Museum of African Art in Washington, D.C; CCS Bard College Hessel Museum of Art; the Fitchburg Art Museum; the Mott-Warsh Collection, Michigan; and the House of European History, Brussels to name a few. TAFETA has participated in international art fairs and biennials such as TEFAF showcase, The Armory Show New York, Art Dubai Contemporary, 1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair and, the 2018 Liverpool Biennial.
