Techworker Community Africa

Techworker Community Africa (TCA) is a community focused on bridging technology, advocacy, and social impact. The organization aims to cultivate a robust tech industry in Africa by empowering, informing, and supporting tech and data training workers. TCA is dedicated to protecting the rights of tech and data training workers in Kenya and across the continent, offering civic education, psychological support, and training to enable them to advocate for their rights, advance their careers, and contribute to community development. Techworker Community Africa (TCA) originated from the founders' recognition of challenges faced by data workers in Africa. They observed AI being used to harness the potential of Africans for cost-effective labor in machine learning data training, often in poor working conditions and without recognition. Having personally experienced the adversities of working for major tech companies, the founders established TCA to address these issues. TCA integrates technology, advocacy, and social impact to revolutionize the tech industry, advocating for the rights of tech and data workers. The mission is to create a supportive ecosystem, ensuring dignity, recognition, and improved working conditions. Through advocacy, TCA is committed to reshaping the narrative of the digital era for a more equitable and sustainable future.
