The Calm Network

The CALM mission is to help organisations and individuals work better. We create time and space in busy people's working lives, for personal reflection and learning through Coaching, Action Learning and Mediation. Coaching gives individuals the opportunity to sit down with a detached but sympathetic coach to focus on agreed development goals, unlocking the potential to maximise their own performance. An Action Learning Set consists of a small group who agree to meet regularly to address work-based problems. A CALM facilitator can help the group keep to the classic rules of action learning and help set-members to develop their listening and questioning skills in a creative, solutions-focussed process. Interpersonal Mediation is a natural extension of our coaching and action learning practice. We are committed to helping organisations resolve internal conflict and improve working relationships through mediated discussion, rather than reverting to formal, win-lose adversarial methods. Coaching, Action Learning and Mentoring draw upon a rich heritage of philosophical and psychological thought, developed in the West. However, we are actively exploring ways of using Eastern methodologies as a means of developing a holistic approach to Health and Well-being at work.
