The Dakota Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 1997 to address social issues and enhance human capabilities through activities that combine business discipline with charitable intent to help people help themselves. Our mission is to change lives by assisting people to achieve greater self-sufficiency for themselves and their families, providing them with tools to help them help themselves. This mission is bounded by our values of integrity, bringing business discipline to nonprofits, being entrepreneurial and creative, and our commitment to have an investment approach that seeks to get the highest social return we can from every grant or PRI we make. We focus on initiatives that foster social entrepreneurship.
