The Distilling Natives

The Distilling Natives is a black-owned gin-distilling company originating from Ga-Rankuwa, Pretoria and is part of South Africa's fast growing craft gin industry. This proudly South African gin brand was founded in 2019 by entrepreneur and restauranteur Ashley Moemise. Our range comprises three gin varieties, namely the flagship Native Honeybush, the pink hibiscus-infused Kulture, and the orange-flavored Native Caracara. The gins are distilled at the award-winning Incendo Distillery at the foot of the Magalies Mountains in Hartbeespoort in the North-West Province. The Native Spirits brand draws inspiration from our rich culture and heritage of brewing beer and distilling spirits throughout the African continent. It pays homage to the Native men and women of our lineage who through the art of distilling have curated and shaped our art, culture and celebrations over generations.
