The Efficacious Educator

Our mission is to explore the teaching practice with the highest impact on student achievement, Collective Teacher Efficacy, or the collectively held belief that we have what it takes to teach and support each and every student. Our podcast supports this mission by interviewing teachers and school leaders who have solved problems in their schools collectively. We explore the conditions that had to be in place to develop, implement, and continuously improve their collectively derived solutions. In The Efficacious Educator newsletter, I’ll draw connections between research, stories from the podcast, and my own experience to highlight strategies that can make a difference in student outcomes. I’ll also share observations and stories from the field as I continue consulting with schools. The Efficacious Educator also provides consulting services for schools interested in developing more student-centered and teacher-centered systems of instruction, discipline, and support.
