The Kiryat Ono Conservatory

The Kiryat Ono Conservatory was established in 1962 by Aharon Alkalay RIP. Alkalay, a music teacher in the Nir elementary school, sought to establish the conservatory in the aim of having a professional music school in town, in which playing lessons and musical theory lessons will be taught, alongside musical ensembles and orchestras. From then on, the conservatory has been leading the way in musical education in Kiryat Ono and as a multicultural home to its students and alumni. In addition to instrument teachings, students of the conservatory take an active part in a variety of musical activities, including: wind instrument orchestras, percussion orchestras, brass orchestras, woodwind instrument orchestras, a big-band ensemble, a dixie ensemble, saxophone ensembles, various chamber ensembles, masterclasses, seminars, concerts, theory classes and musical literature.
