Thrum Leadership turns world-class research into practical leadership development for healthcare. Rooted in the University of Oxford, we design, deliver, and evaluate programmes that build confidence, collaboration, and measurable organisational impact. Who we are We are an Oxford-based consultancy specialising in evidence-based leadership development. Our team combines clinical, academic, and leadership expertise to co-create programmes with NHS Trusts, ICSs, and public-sector organisations. What we do Deliver experiential, psychologically safe programmes built around Action Learning and applied leadership projects. Evaluate programmes based on what's useful for our partner's to make informed decisions, aligning with Kirkpatrick’s evaluation model and utilisation-focused evaluation. Publish peer-reviewed research in BMJ Leader, including the first umbrella review of healthcare leadership development and original evaluations of NHS leadership programmes. Our impact Supported over 400 healthcare professionals across the NHS and beyond. Independent evaluations show gains in leadership confidence, workplace behaviour, and team culture, with ripple effects reaching thousands of staff. Research demonstrates both short-term outcomes (skills, confidence, job satisfaction) and long-term organisational impact (quality improvement, staff retention, patient flow).
