Trish Cooke

Trish Cooke writes for theatre; TV; film and radio. For children Trish has written fifteen books, amongst them : FULL, FULL, FULL OF LOVE (Walker Books) HEY CRAZY RIDDLE (Frances Lincoln) CATCH (Scholastic) SO MUCH (Walker Books). SO MUCH has won many awards including the Nestle Smarties Book Prize, the She/WH Smith's Under Fives Book Prize and the Kurt Maschler Award. SO MUCH was Highly Commended for the Kate Greenaway Medal and also won awards in France and South Africa. Her latest books, HOORAH FOR MARY SEACOLE and NO DINNER FOR ANANSI were published by Franklin Watts in 2007 and 2008. TV writing credits include: BBC’s EASTENDERS and DOCTORS. For the stage her latest credits include: The 2008 Olivier Award nominated CINDERELLA (Theatre Royal Stratford) and ANANSI,(Talawa Theatre Company 2007), ALADDIN (Theatre Royal Stratford East,2009.) As an actress Trish has played many roles on TV including parts in popular dramas such as CORONATION STREET; EASTENDERS; DOCTORS and CASUALTY. Between 1988 to 1996 Trish presented a preschool programme for Children’s BBC called PLAYDAYS and wrote some of the scripts. She was also one of the original writers for CBeebies TWEENIES. Trish has a broad experience of working with nurseries and schools throughout the UK and more recently the US and the Caribbean. Her services to schools include: story sessions; workshops and educational talks. She works closely with teachers to agree the shape and content of her workshops and tailors them closely to the age, interests and abilities of the children.
