TunSea: A Citizen Science Platform for Marine Conservation In response to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, the TunSea Facebook group was created, bringing together marine science enthusiasts in Tunisia. The group, which is animated by daily publications on marine life in the Mediterranean and particularly in Tunisia, with +80 publications, 500 comments and reactions on average each day, has established itself as a platform for participatory science. After three years of activity, the TunSea Association for Participatory Science was founded on February 10, 2023. Its objective is to develop marine knowledge, raise awareness of marine conservation and encourage national and international cooperation. By promoting research and education, it works to safeguard marine resources and biodiversity for future generations through a participatory approach. Connecting Citizens and Science At TunSea, we are connecting citizens and science. The group has become the first citizen science platform in Tunisia. We are collecting data every day on several marine species, marine mysterious phenomena and more. We are also using our social media channels to disseminate knowledge about marine ecosystems, habitats, species, laws in a very simple and clear way. Our Contribution to Global Marine Conservation Efforts TunSea is making a significant contribution to global marine conservation efforts. By collecting data on marine species and phenomena, we are helping to improve our understanding of the marine environment. This information is essential for developing effective conservation strategies. We are also raising awareness of marine conservation issues through our social media channels. We believe that education is essential for protecting the marine environment.
