Umbali is the world’s first charity fundraising platform designed specifically for endurance sports (running, cycling, walking etc) challenges. Umbali’s mission is to inspire millions more endurance athletes worldwide to dedicate their kilometres to good causes, and conversely, inspire millions of people to take on new athletic challenges by virtue of these being linked to meaningful causes. Our dream is that the billions of steps pounded daily on pavements and trails around the world, are also steps toward a better world – and that this in turn will encourage so many more people to step out and start running, cycling or walking for a healthier body and mind. The product taps into the worldwide boom in charity running. Millions of people around the world are discovering the power of running (or cycling, walking etc) for good causes. Participants in the largest running events around the world are already raising billions of dollars for good causes. Umbali seeks to accelerate this trend and open up the power of charity running to many more people, non-profits and events. Umbali is a web-based crowdfunding platform that lets anyone create a fundraising campaign linked to any athletic challenge of their choosing. We have connected several charities in Belgium and Greece, and have hosted several successful challenges that have raised several thousands of euros for charities. In the months ahead, we are connecting hundreds more charities and events, and are building a mobile app with best-in-class ‘sports app’ features (e.g. tracking distance & speed, creating routes, leaderboards etc) integrated with charity fundraising features. Our long-term goal is to be the world’s leading charity running platform, contributing significant funds for charities around the world and inspiring millions of people to dedicate their kilometres to good causes.
