Back in 2013, a group of friends from the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management, the Louvain School of Management and ICHEC Brussels Management School decided to venture beyond their university courses and initiated a national entrepreneurship initiative for students, by students. The aim of this project was to promote entrepreneurship in Belgium especially among students. In January 2015, after more than one year of strategic thinking and redesigning, UStart was created. More than a national brand, this organization of student entrepreneurship clubs was developed on a new value proposition tailored for 21st century students. Today, UStart covers all major universities in Brussels and Wallonia and has launched its geographical expansion in Flanders. Our mission is to strive to become the Belgium’s community of student-entrepreneurs and a key actor in the national startup landscape.
