Anchal and Manoj met in 2018 after 31 years of having graduated from IIM Ahmedabad at the batch reunion. Anchal had just returned from his long stint in Paris where he built a global lifestyle brand while Manoj was contemplating bringing a long, successful global career in the FMCG corporate houses to an end. Manoj was fascinated by the Creative and Cultural Businesses Programme that Anchal had founded at IIMA with an intent of equipping the new age creative Indian talent with strong brand building and management knowledge so that more Indian brands can scale and make a mark globally. This meeting culminated into a series of debates, learning, and creating new management paradigms for creating and maximising value in consumer brands. They dug deep into the codes of luxury and saw immense possibilities in applying it to any business. Pushing boundaries that others believed to be limits, they found that constant learning, practising, and teaching fuels their curiosity even more while keeping them abreast of contemporary business world. They chose to bring this very mindset to Val-More with a resolve to create a new age action advisory firm that would help Indian brands and businesses deliver more value to their customers and all other stakeholders. This simply means adopting the “spirit of luxury” in building a business. And remembering that you only compete with your best self. Think superlative, not comparative.
