Vinha dos Padres (meaning "wine of the priests", who occupied and produced on the same parcel for many centuries since the 1600s) is a premium winery situated in the heart of the very sought after mountainous Portuguese countryside of the Serra de Sao Mamede National Park (600m alt.) and Portalegre DOC. In collaboration with world-renowned enologist Susana Esteban, we work exclusively with 120+ year old vines (planted in the late 1800s), whose grapes are then fermented in distinctly traditional and regional pre-WWI terracotta amphoras.
