Manzwine
The Manz family moved to the peaceful village of Cheleiros, western Portugal, in 2004 and quickly fell in love with the people and the place. Through the locals, André Manz discovered the important winegrowing past of the village and from there the ManzWine project/mission was born: to recover the winegrowing activity of Cheleiros! He bought a small vineyard with an unknown grape variety planted - Jampal - and despite advice to replace it, André Manz replied "But I don't want to make a lot of wine. The result was a surprising white wine that caused a sensation amongst all those who tasted it" and this was the motto for the production of other, older red Portuguese grape varieties, as well as for the exploitation of vineyards in the noble regions of Alto Douro and Palmela.

Casa Do Joa
Casa DO JOA rises in the village of Parada, 20 km from Bragança. Typical northern village whose name is etymologically associated with historical and geographical circumstances as a “stop by” place. Perhaps that’s why it is a village where time looks like it passes so slowly and without rushing to go anywhere. By rehabilitating an old haystack house and preserving its original stone walls, was born the new wine cellar that holds this dreaming project. Despite being a new structure, it kept harmony without distorting its landscape. It’s on this land that JOA (Jorge Ortega Afonso) has his origins and it made complete sense to call “Casa” to the place where the soul feels happy. Parada is a high land, it’s around 800m high. In other people’s time, it was rich in tin and wolfram land. In this people’s time, it is rich in chestnut trees, olive trees and vines. These ones especially, are pure, in free standing regime and resistant to phylloxera, they are over 130 years old and have over 20 different types of grape varieties. It’s the climate that defines the characteristics of the wine and in order to respect the harvest year, no corrections are made, just monitorization, that starts in the treatment and careful vine watch until the bottle process. The wine is left in used barrels made of french and portuguese oak e takes advantage of the hard winters from the region to precipitate the deposits, avoiding the filter process. After this rest time, the wine is bottle in the in the peerless, robust and elegant bottles. Here the wine is kept by the best cork that can be offered and so that it can remain kept in everyone’s wine cellar for when it his time to open, may it be a memorable moment.

Quinta Do Cardo
It is on a plateau in Portugal, in Beira Interior, that we find Quinta do Cardo, between the protected landscape of the Douro International Reserve and the historical village of Castelo Rodrigo. At an altitude of 750 m, granite, schist, mountains, fertile valleys, and abundant water mark this land. But also an ancient human occupation and the continental influence of a country on the edge of the Atlantic. Here, some of the best Portuguese wine is produced, coming from a viticultural historical past that goes back to Roman times. Our organic wines are distinguished by their unique personality and the sensory and cultural experience they offer from the unique characteristics of this terroir. The vineyards of Quinta do Cardo are over 90 years old and spread over 79 hectares of certified organic vines. The plateau where they are located has very gentle slopes, receiving sunlight all day, in a field where silence and peace take us back to ancient times. They are protected by the Marofa and Castelo Rodrigo mountains and surrounded by the Douro, Côa, and Águeda rivers. The granite of the soils is a constant, but we also find, with less expression, schist and some sandy soils. The granite geological matrix of Beira Interior Plateau gives the wines a fresh, mineral, and elegant character. Furthermore, the organic production method allows the preservation of native fauna and flora, thus fostering the biodiversity of our agricultural ecosystem, which is reflected in the wine. The name "Quinta do Cardo" comes from the large extensions of milk thistles on the property, which were used for cheese production. In 2009 the vineyards were converted to the organic production system, certified by Sativa. It was an essential step towards protecting biodiversity and the agricultural ecosystem, and in 2014 all the wines from Quinta do Cardo became organic, the largest project with these characteristics in Portugal.
